This week we continued to watch the This I Believe videos. Overall, I think that we as a class did a fantastic job expressing our beliefs in a new and interesting way. I was surprised at how much I learned about each of my peers. I think this project was an awesome way for us to get out of our comfort zones. People were able to share things with us that we never knew about them, and that is a really powerful thing. I think it's cool how a simple project like this one can be taken so seriously by all of us; no one made a joke out of it.
I am intrigued to start this new project because I have heard that some of the book choices are pretty good. I always love to start a new book, and I think these will be decent! I am interesting to see how this group project turns out. Because we are all specified with different roles, I feel like it might end up being a project where it seems like some people are doing a lot more work than others because the job they were assigned. However, I think it will be nice to be able to sort of work in our own elements and not have to do stuff that we aren't necessarily comfortable with. I personally feel like I would be able to do a decent job in all of the categories. This is because I think one of my strong areas as an English student is writing, and this is the job that I would probably enjoy the most. My experience in digital media has taught me a lot about videos and images, and therefore, I feel like I would be able to do a pretty good job with that portion of the project. And finally, I don't know too much about coding, but if I was taught the basics, I feel like I could easily catch on and figure it out.
I think that the Snowfall website was very cool. I think stuff like that is a lot more interesting to look at and read because there are a lot of other distractions on the internet that have a negative effect on you. I personally hate going to websites and being disturbed by a bunch of adds and videos popping up because I really don't care. I would much rather be able to focus on what I am actually searching about, which is why I think it will be nice to create something that doesn't have those distractions.
